 Location
Zanzibar is part of an archipelago made up of Zanzibar
(Unguja) and Pemba Islands as well as several islets.
It's
about 25 miles from the Tanzanian coast – 20 minutes by plane or 2 hours by ferry
from Dar es Salaam. The Zamani Zanzibar Kempinski is located on the prestigious
north east coast of Zanzibar - approximately 60 kilometres (45 minutes drive)
from world heritage listed Stone Town, Zanzibar Ferry Terminal and Zanzibar International
Airport. Flights: Getting to Zanzibar by Air (from the rest of the world) At present
KLM/Kenya Airways offer international scheduled flights to Zanzibar (with stop
over at Nairobi). Condor offers
direct flights from Germany once a week. There are several charter flights from
Italy and Belgium too. Several large carriers fly into Dar es Salaam, which is
only a short trip by air (25 minutes) or sea to Zanzibar. Amongst them are British
Airways, Swissair, KLM, Qatar Airways, South African Airways and Emirates Airlines.
