Sun and Sandals Tours has been established for seventeen years. The operation is a wholesale tour operation specialising in selected destinations, locations and hand picked accommodations and services. We offer clients personalised tailored tourism products for individual and group travelers as well as a specialised area focusing on high caliber destination weddings and honeymoons.

Sun and Sandals Tours is owned by Marlene Lorraine Martin. Marlene has over thirty five years of tourism experience - both retail and wholesale. She has been a founding Member of organisations such as SKAL South Africa, Travel Bags, SATSA.

Marlene has successfully run two retail offices and a wholesale office in Johannesburg with a marketing office in France. Marlene's background includes IATA Diploma, secretarial and commercial diplomas as well as a Diploma in Theology. She is currently undertaking her Masters Degree in Theology.

Marlene heads up the Conferences and Incentives Division and Leisure Division. In 2003 Marlene was joined by Samantha, her daughter who heads up the Destination Weddings and Honeymoons division. Sam has Degrees in Commerce and Law and is currently undertaking a Language Degree in Chinese and Italian. Both ladies feel passionate about conservation as well as fair trade in tourism. In 2003 Sun and Sandals became affiliated with TEP Tourism Enterprise Program a division of Business Trust.

Sun and Sandals Tours began to investigate cultural sustainable tours in Africa, particularly South Africa researching housing, greening, arts and crafts projects.

Sun and Sandals Tours can arrange day trips to projects, cultural tours, conservation and rehabilitation tours as well as authentic traditional destination weddings where the community is actively involved.

In terms of Conservation, Sun and Sandals actively support projects such as Primate rescue facilities as well as elephant projects in Africa and Thailand. Lists of supported projects will happily be forwarded to those interested.

Another interesting alliance is with LAAW - Legal Alliance for Animal Welfare a group of concerned legal practitioners who assist cases of animal abuse and lobby in terms of legislation and policy change for greater protection of wildlife and domestic animals.
