Trend to Watch - Wedding Blessings -
2007 has seen an increasing number
of couples eloping for a wedding blessing. What is a wedding blessing? A wedding
blessing is a non legally binding ceremony. This can also be called a renewal
of marital vows or mock wedding. Some couples choose to have a civil ceremony
at home before embarking on a themed blessing abroad. This is a lot of fun, extremely
romantic, makes for great memories and circumvents any red tape some destinations
are famous for.
Culturally themed blessings include Indian weddings on Mauritius,
traditional Thai blessings in Thailand, culturally themed blessings in Africa
and an Arabian themed desert blessing in Dubai. Because a blessing is a non legally
binding affair the locations for such a ceremony are very flexible from beaches
and private islands, remote desert settings and bush scenes to exchanging vows
on a Dhow off the coast of Zanzibar.

A destination
wedding for us is where we combine the expertise of both the wedding industry
and travel industry to produce an itinerary which includes a wedding whether this
be religious, civil or mock, renewal of marriage vows as well as travel deals
and specials to create a stress free weddingmoon which breaks the mold of a usual
stay at home wedding day. Hence we are not a directory. We have our own in house
wedding coordinators and planners for the day of the wedding and produce tailor
made packages for couples depending on needs, budget and specifications. Our expertise
in tourism includes flight assistance, car rental, accommodation, overland journeys,
tours, special interest travel. In the wedding industry we work with the following
specialists, attorneys for an ante nuptial contract, Ministers and Officials,
wedding photographers, décor and flower artists, musicians, wedding coordinators
and planners, bridal gown makers, wedding invitations, dress hiring vendors to
name a few!

SS Tours can assist
families with packages to Africa, Indian Ocean Islands such as Mauritius with
child friendly weddings, child friendly honeymoons and family holidays. Very few
safari lodges in Africa are equipped to manage children. We can package a holiday
to include child friendly game lodges and service providers to make kids feel
welcome and keep them active and safe for a stress free safari. Likewise on Mauritius
child friendly resorts include kiddie activity resorts with child minders and
entertainers.
