A Catholic Pilgrimage to Italy.

EXCITING PILGRIMAGE TOUR : ONLY ITALY

Day 1: ARRIVAL ITALY Our pilgrimage begins as we leave from your hometown airport for an overnight flight to Milan.. Dinner and breakfast are served on board.

Day 2: MILAN Arrival to Milan. Dinner and overnight in Milan.

Day 3: MILAN After breakfast, we will drive to the Duomo and visit St. Ambrogio Baptistery and St. Charles Tomb. Celebrate mass in the crypt. Visit Sforzesco Castle, St. Ambrogio Basilica and Saint Mary of the Graces church. See the last supper if the tickets are available. Free time for shopping. Dinner and overnight in Milan.

Day 4: MILAN-PADUA- After breakfast, we will drive to Padua and visit St. Antony of Padua Basilica. Dinner and overnight in Padua.

Day 5: PADUA-VENICE-LORETO After breakfast, we begin touring of Venice. Visit the Basilica of St. Mark, Doge’s Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs. Afternoon we will drive to Loreto for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: LORETO-ASSISI After breakfast visit to Loreto and the Holy House where, Mary, Joseph and Jesus once lived and prayed. Afternoon continue to Assisi for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7: ASSISI-ROME After breakfast we will celebrate Mass at the tomb of St Francis. Explore the quaint hilltop birthplace of St Francis, which still retains an unspoiled quality similar to the early 1200’s when he began his Ministry. Contained within the huge 13th-century Basilica are many of his possessions and a series of frescoes depicting his life. You may kneel before the crucifix from which Jesus spoke to St. Francis, asking him to rebuild His church. Visit St Mary of the Angels Basilica, where St Francis spent most of his life. Here we visit the Chapel, Portiuncola, the rose bush, and the cave where the saint retired for prayer. Continue to Rome for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8: ROME, HISTORICAL and CHRISTIAN ROME, MAJOR BASILICAS After breakfast, we will tour three major Basilicas: St Mary Major, this is one of the oldest shrines dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, after she appeared to Pope Liberius in 358 requesting a church be built in her honour. This shrine contains a relic from the manger where the infant Jesus was laid. The Basilica of the St John in Lateran, the former residence of all the popes prior to their return to Rome in 1377. Five ecumenical councils were held in this cathedral housing the remains of 4 saints. St Paul Outside the Walls, which houses the remains of St. Paul under the main altar. Many relics are displayed, along with the chains that once bound the apostle while a prisoner in Rome. Visit one of the catacombs. We will see Capitoline Hill, Forum, St. Peter in Chains, Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, Pantheon, Old Appian Way, Palazzo Venezia. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 9: ROME -PAPAL AUDIENCE After breakfast depart for Papal Audience (depending upon availability) in the monumental St. Peter’s Square and see the Basilica of St. Peter in Vatican City. Afternoon free time in Vatican. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 10: ROME-return flight home from a catholic pilgrimage in italy.
